Garden Sculpture – Saint Francis

Steve Worrall of Shropshire BWA was gifted a few years ago a 150kg 60cm diameter tree trunk of walnut by the former monk and world renowned carver – Aidan Hart. Aidan gave Steve one simple instruction – “carve something holy.” After a few hours of chain-sawing and planning, Steve set about creating a garden feature dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi – patron saint of animals and the environment. The 1m high carved walnut pillar is topped with a bird bath hand crafted by Steve.
